SLV Museum Hosts Historic Walk at Paradise Park

Join Historian Barry Brown for a walk through Paradise Park while he talks about the history of the former California Powder Works, which used to operate on the site. Learn all about the men who worked there, facing the possibility of explosions every day. See some of the existing homes which used to be bunkers where the blasting powder was produced. Learn about how the San Lorenzo Valley possessed all of the elements needed to produce the explosives and why it's no longer here.

Meet at the Picnic Grounds inside Paradise Park at 10am. Bring good walking shoes, water, and a sack lunch for a picnic after the walk.

Paradise Park, Highway 9, Santa Cruz, CA.
