Margaret Bruce Appointed to SLV Water District Board

Margaret Bruce of Boulder Creek was appointed to the Board of Directors of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District to replace Jim Nelson who resigned last month. The interim appointment was unanimous.  Ms. Bruce was among three candidates who expressed interest in the vacancy and becomes the first woman to serve on the board since Merilee Bolden passed away in April 2000.

Ms Bruce is an independent consultant specializing in regulatory and legislative issues around water, energy and climate change issues.  She has been a member of the District’s Education Committee, was a Vice President for Ecology Action and worked in the City of San Jose’s Sustainability office.  She was also the Environmental Programs Manager at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and worked at the NASA-Ames Research Center.
