27th Annual River & Road Clean Up Takes Place Saturday, September 21, 2013
Felton, CA – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The rivers and roads of the San Lorenzo Valley that flow into the Monterey Bay will get a lot cleaner on Saturday, September 21, 2013 when hundreds of volunteers band together to remove and recycle debris from the community. The 27th Annual River & Road Cleanup joins The Valley Women's Club, SLV Water District, Santa Cruz County Public Works, SLV Redemption & Recycling Centers, Save Our Shores, and The Core in removing trash from the rivers and roads that ultimately flow to the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary.
The River & Road Cleanup takes place on Coastal Cleanup Day, joining with Save Our Shores, The California Coastal Commission, and many others to reduce the harmful materials that pollute our communities and eventually make their way into the ocean. Lompico's on-going annual clean-up joined with SOS three years ago, and is coordinating efforts with the VWC to expand the number of people involved at all SLV sites.
