The Redwood Mountain Faire is truly a remarkable event for all ages. It is returning on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3 at Roaring Camp, with a great new layout!
21 Bands on Two Stages! Juried Arts & Crafts! Expanded Children’s Activities (Freesia Raine’s wonderful music for kids, crafts, bounce house, carnival games, face painting)! Great Food and Beverages — featuring beers and ales from local microbreweries and wines from Santa Cruz Mountains’ wineries.
Your help is needed to welcome folks and sell tickets at the entry gates, or to serve wine or beer, BUT slots are filling up (especially Sunday), so contact Linda Moore right away. Work four hours and you enjoy the rest of that day at the Faire for free. (You do have to pay for parking, $5, so plan to carpool!) There is a training the Wednesday evening before the Faire that you may want to attend.
Also — early bird shifts and post-Faire shifts are available for helping with traffic control and similar tasks during set up, which frees you up for the entire Faire, so that may appeal to you.
By having volunteers do so much, it becomes possible to put the Faire on for a very reasonable price and still make money for many local nonprofit organizations! (Discount tickets are now on sale too: online at www.slvrmf.com, or at BC and BL Scarborough’s, Felton Liberty Bank, SV Scarborough in Kings Village and Street Light Records in Santa Cruz. Spread the word!)
You can go to www.slvrmf.com to sign up to volunteer, or contact Linda Moore, Volunteer Coordinator, at LindaM@ redwoodmountainfaire.com or call her at 566-7788.
Remember -- RAIN OR SHINE, THE FAIRE IS FINE! We’re ready either way. (Remember, no dogs and no coolers....)
See you at the Faire, whether you can help or not!! Please go on Facebook and “like” the Faire and The Valley Women’s Club!
