White Oaks High School To Close

SLV School Distrtict Superintendent Julie Haff announced a partnership with the County Office of Education that will result in the closure of the White Oak High School, a Title 2 alternative high school that was located adjacent to the former Quail Hollow Elementary School in Ben Lomond.  White Oak, which had been operated as a Charter school will close after this term ends in June.

The District-COE partnership will result in a new school serving 8th-12th grade students to include ROP classes, counseling services a “seat based” program for 40 students that will provide up to 200 credits toward a high school diploma, an Independent studies program for an additional 25 students and a summer school program beginning in June of this year.

The new school will open in August and be run by the COE in buildings leased from the SLVUSD. Additional details regarding the new partnership will be discussed at this evening's School Board meeting.
