Support the Women's Club and Beautify the Valley

If you noticed all the blossoming narcissus, freesia and amaryllis throughout the San Lorenzo valley this last spring did you wish you had planted some (or more) in your garden?

The Valley Women’s Club has teamed up once again with Bill the Bulb Baron from Moss Landing to provide these fragrant, drought-tolerant bulbs and to raise money to support VWC activities. 2010 was an excellent growing year for narcissus which means the price for these treasures has stayed low – and the quality is excellent. And this is truly buying local – these bulbs haven’t traveled all the way from Holland, they’re from right down the road. These are old-fashioned classics that are already acclimatized to California and will increase effortlessly for years.

The Women’s Club is taking orders now through Oct 7 and will deliver bulbs to you that you can plant right away so they can make roots for beautiful spring bloom. Plant upon receipt, or store them in a dry place until the mellow days of fall after the first rains moisten the soil for effortless beauty in your garden, landscape or in your flower vases next spring.

There are 3 separate colors of cheerful, sweet scented narcissus and a Breeders Mix. Also available are selected colors of fragrant white and “red” (deep hot pink) Belladonna lilies (Naked Ladies) and perfumed white heirloom freesias.
