Transition SLV Takes Big First Step

Congratulations to Transition SLV for becoming certified as an official Transition initiative. There are 310 similar movements worldwide committed to addressing the coming transition from fossil fuels to a more sustainable lifestyle. A small crew of committed, hard-working volunteers worked to meet the requirements to achieve this recognition and join 69 other communities in the US building resilience and self-reliance within local communities and local economies. This achievement is the result of the volunteer efforts of Becky Barrett, Judith Broadhurst, Karen Haralson, Becca Hiatt, Polly Hughes, Stephan Outrey, Mike Matessa, Steve Tanner, Elizabeth Thorne with support from The Satellite Telework Center, Transition Santa Cruz, and the Environmental Committee of the Valley Women's Club
